Interim Director of Finance

We are seeking a skilled and experienced finance professional with a strong nonprofit accounting background. In this role, you will manage financial operations, provide strategic insights, and ensure accurate stewardship of the organization’s resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger management, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closings, preparing financial statements that reflect the organization’s mission and financial position.
• Develop and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and financial planning aligned with organizational goals.
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP) and federal/state regulations to protect the organization’s funding.
• Manage cash flow, grants, and restricted funds to ensure resources are available for impactful programs.
• Support audits and prepare schedules and documentation in a timely manner.
• Provide financial reports to the Board of Directors and executive leadership to guide decision-making.
• Oversee preparation and submission of IRS Form 990 and other regulatory filings.
• Collaborate with program directors and department heads to manage financial aspects of grants and special projects.
• Mentor and support accounting staff, fostering their professional growth.
