Overview
The Worcester Red Sox are the Triple-A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. The team plays their home games at Polar Park in Worcester, Massachusetts. The Worcester Red Sox are looking for kind, helpful, knowledgeable, compassionate, energetic, and proactive individuals to be a part of the Polar Park Usher Team for the 2026 baseball season. As a member of the Woo Sox organization, you are an integral member that brings the fan experience to life.
Roles And Responsibilities- Provide exceptionally hospitable service to ballpark guests by welcoming fans, checking tickets, seating fans, answering ballpark questions, thanking fans on exit, proactively enhancing the fan experience, and going the extra mile to create warm and wonderful moments and memories
- Assist with the execution of pregame and postgame events (e.g., giveaways, fireworks clearing, catch on the field, run the bases, etc.)
- Assist with spills, messes, and trash removal to maintain a clean ballpark for all to enjoy, including the pregame cleaning of ballpark seats
- Respond and communicate effectively and compassionately with fans, guests, and coworkers
- Understand and enforce Polar Park operational policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests
- Using knowledge of Polar Park and Worcester history, engage fans to deliver a holistic experience and exceptional customer service
- Proactively de-escalate sensitive social situations among fans
- Physically assist, with compassion, infirm or disabled fans, including during emergency evacuations
- Verify tickets and credentials to control access into restricted or group areas
- Collaborate with Woo Sox front office & other game-day departments where it pertains to Polar Park operations & providing fans with the best possible fan experience
- Additional duties as assigned
- Available to work most home games and special events during the 2026 season, consisting mostly of untraditional hours such as weeknights, weekends, and in-season holidays
- Excellent communication skills with a keen, observant eye to maintain cleanliness and friendliness
- Outstanding positive attitude and exceptional customer service skills
- Desire to be a team player and help those in need
- Ability to work calm under pressure
- Ability to communicate professionally with other staff on radio where it pertains to ballpark/game-day operations during Woo Sox home games
- Stamina to maintain a positive, proactive attitude in variable weather and potentially long games
- Bilingual, multilingual, and/or ASL Certified
- Previous usher experience
- Previous customer service experience
