The primary responsibility of this site-based role is to develop, coordinate, and implement environmental, health, and safety improvement programs, elevating facilities to best practice standards and promoting safety throughout the organization within the scope of responsibility.
Responsibilities- Develops and implements robust EHS programs, training initiatives, and policies to reduce incidents and ensure compliance with regulations and company requirements.
- Provide EHS leadership and direction for management, professional, technical and support staff in area of responsibility.
- Ensure systems are in place to enable area of responsibility to operate in legal and ethical compliance regarding EHS issues.
- Lead efforts to educate employees on best practices, precautions, and established procedures.
- Provide business perspective, strategic and tactical direction to develop and implement EHS initiatives for the EHS Long range plan.
- Represent Abb Vie externally on matters related to EHS with external regulatory agencies and non-government organizations.
- Maintain a broad understanding of local, regional and global EHS regulations and practices for area of responsibility.
- Educate employees on best practices, precautions, and established procedures; ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements including OSHA PSM (29 CFR ) and EPA RMP (40 CFR 68).
- Create a safety culture by directing efforts to reduce or eliminate injuries, equipment damage, and unnecessary costs by ensuring that facilities and equipment meet safety standards.
- Bachelor’s Degree (EHS related or Engineering) plus 5–12 years of EHS experience, or Master’s Degree (EHS related or Engineering) plus 5–8 years of EHS experience. EHS experience in manufacturing or laboratory environments is required.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is preferred but not required.
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative occupational hygiene risk assessment and exposure monitoring, including developing monitoring strategies, issuing technical reports, and making recommendations to reduce risk.
- Experience implementing EHS regulations, conducting risk assessments, root cause analysis, incident investigations, regulatory interactions, and cross-functional team management.
- Ability to develop practical, applicable standards and/or policies that meet business objectives; strong technical writing and business communication.
- Strong listening, relationship-building, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage projects and programs effectively.
- Regional Commercial Senior Leaders and Affiliate Senior Leaders at 20–35 Affiliates
- EHS professionals and non-EHS personnel at commercial affiliates and US field-based and office-based employees

Pay Range: $106,500 – $202,500 USD
