Senior Transportation Project Engineer

BETA is seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Project Engineer to join our team. This position will play a key role in performing highway design, developing contract plans and documents, and mentoring junior staff. It will also collaborate across our multiple service areas, assist with business development and project pursuits, and coordinate projects with our clients.

Preferred location is BETA's Worcester office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations. BETA also offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to request working remotely up to 2 days per week.

• Perform engineering design, review, and preparation of contract documents.
• Provide technical oversight and mentoring to junior staff.
• Prepare and review contract documents and reports.
• Collaborate with design team members and provide technical support.
• Provide client service and assist with proposal pursuits.

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 8 to 15 years of related engineering experience in highway design, stormwater management, ADA compliance, and roadway construction practices.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil3D and Micro Station Open Roads Designer.
• Experience with MUTCD, AASHTO, MassDOT design requirements.
• Must be able to collect field data and measurements, including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets, and perform asset inspections.
• Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow).
• Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Salary: $98,000-$133,000 or commensurate.
