Position: Associate Director Student Leadership and Engagement - Clark University
Job Description:

The Associate Director for Student Leadership and Engagement is a student-centered, collaborative, and intentional leadership educator and advisor who strategically leads a vibrant and inclusive campus community through leadership development, engaging student clubs, student events, and late night and weekend programming and campus-wide student engagement. Reporting to the Assistant Dean/Director for Student Engagement and Belonging, the Associate Director for Student Leadership and Engagement develops and implements a comprehensive leadership development curriculum and leadership programming for students, manages and oversees recognized student organization, and is responsible for developing a cohesive student experience calendar, ensuring meaningful learning outcomes through co-curricular engagement and programming and managing the institution's student engagement platform.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership Development & Programming (30%)

* Develop and implement leadership development programs in line with inclusive leadership development theories and engagement leadership competencies, including, but not limited to, Emerging Leaders Institute, Club Leader Training, leadership workshops, and the Identity Leadership Retreat.

* Coordinate the student leader's selection, training, and evaluation process in collaboration with other areas in the Division of Student Success. Create timelines, information session content, applications, interview processes, combined selection meetings, and position descriptions and evaluation documents as a part of the student leader selection process. Develop student leader curriculum and facilitate in-services for newly selected and elected student leader positions.

* Assess student leader learning outcomes and measure student efficacy, skill development, and knowledge acquisition and support student ongoing personal reflection and leadership competency development.

* Coordinate with campus partners, including, but not limited to, the Career Connections Center and Alumni & Friends Engagement in supporting students in leveraging student experiences for life after Clark.

* Support the development and implantation of a leadership pathway as a part of Clark's co-curricular transcript and the Clark Experience.

Recognized Student Organizations Management & Oversight (30%)

* Provide support to over 120 clubs and organizations, their student leaders and advisors, including supporting club training and resource materials, attending meetings and events, engagement with advisors, and connections with campus partners.

* Develop club leader management and leadership programs and workshops to support student organization leaders and advisors on topics including, but not limited to, Clark Engage, managing space, running effective meetings, marketing, inclusion, transition, programing, risk management and adhering to policies.

* Oversee the annual club registration and recognition process for clubs and organizations, including review of charters, transition materials, and founding documents, as well as ensuring that recognized student organizations are in compliance with university and SLICE policies and procedures.

* Review and update the Recognized Student Organization (RSO) Manual and training documents for students annually in collaboration with campus partners, including but not limited to the Office of Facilities Management, Events, University Police, and Clark University' legal team. Develop training materials for club advisors.

* Build relationships with all student leaders and student clubs, with an emphasis on the recognized performance student organizations to support them on their leadership journey and building healthy and inclusive engagement opportunities for students.

* Engage with and advise student organizations and leaders regarding event planning, organization management, conflict management and mediation, culturally relevant leadership, and identity development.
