Hiring Range: $205,000 - $214,000. Please note that the final offer may vary within this range based on a candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

The Hanshaw Pediatric Hospitalist service at UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center, the clinical affiliate of UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester, MA, is pleased to announce an opening for a Pediatric Hospitalist to join our five-physician group. UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Hospitalist to join our team of healthcare professionals and contribute to our overall mission of serving the needs of the diverse families in Central Massachusetts.

• Attend a busy inpatient ward service, with census per hospitalist 8-10 patients/day. All patients are covered by our Pediatric and Med/Peds residents, and UMass Chan medical students are involved with most patients.
• Cover the sedation service, primarily involving oncology and surgical patients. Prior experience with sedation is helpful but not required.
• Engage in research opportunities, as we are the only tertiary care medical center in Central Massachusetts.
• Provide teaching and mentoring within GME and the medical school, which is attached to our hospital.

• BC/BE in Pediatric Hospital Medicine is strongly preferred.
• Experience with sedation is helpful but not required.

The Department of Pediatrics is a major department within UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center and UMass Chan Medical School with over 80 faculty members and 80 staff (e.g., nurse practitioners, physician assistants and support staff), a thriving pediatric residency program, and several subspecialty fellowship training programs. Located in Worcester, UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center is the only children’s hospital in Central Massachusetts.

The Children’s Medical Center is a safety-net hospital for children in Central Massachusetts; over 60% of patients are covered by Medicaid and almost 40% of patients are of color (i.e., BIPOC).
