Position Overview
One of our Partners, in Massachusetts the flagship university-based adult primary care practice in Worcester, Massachusetts, is seeking a locum tenens Primary Care Physician to provide full-time outpatient coverage for a 6-month assignment. This is a no-call, outpatient-only role with a structured schedule, extensive clinical support, and a collaborative academic practice environment.
Based on current national locum tenens market data for outpatient primary care physicians in academic and university-affiliated settings, the provider compensation for this assignment ranks in the Top 10% nationally.

Duration: 26 weeks
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Clinic Time: 32 hours/week
Paid Administrative Time: 8 hours/week
Total Paid Hours: 40 hours/week

EMR: Epic (Dragon dictation available)
Flagship university-based adult primary care clinic
Team-based model of care
1:1 Medical Assistant support with advanced Epic capabilities
Embedded and onsite support services:
Psychiatry
Psychology
Social Work
Pharmacy
Rheumatology
8 Advanced Practice Providers (physician-APP paired model)
30 medical residents (optional teaching involvement)
Assigned administrative assistant
Dedicated nursing triage team
Centralized in-basket processing before provider review
Immediate access to labs and imaging, including same-day CT
Highly collaborative academic atmosphere
Provide comprehensive outpatient adult primary care services
Manage chronic conditions and routine acute issues
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary, team-based care model
Review labs, imaging, and consultant recommendations
Coordinate care with embedded specialists and support staff
Document all encounters accurately and efficiently in Epic
Strong outpatient adult primary care experience
Comfort practicing in an academic, team-based environment
Ability to manage a consistent patient volume efficiently
Prior Epic experience preferred
MD or DO
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Active Massachusetts medical license preferred
DEA and Massachusetts CSR required
