- Weekday
Shifts:
7:00 AM 4:00 PM - Weekday Call: 4:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Weekend Call: 6:00 AM 7:00 AM
Clinical Volume & Responsibilities
- Trauma Inpatients:
- Trauma Activations: per 24-hour period
- % blunt trauma
- Two attendings cover the service during daytime hours
Emergency General Surgery (EGS):
- Some calls include EGS coverage
- EGS consults: 0 8 per call
- Operative cases: 0 3 per call
- Emergencies only (e.g., perforated viscus)
Support Structure
- APP Coverage:
- 2 APPs during the day
- 1 APP overnight
- Residents: PGY-3 or PGY-4
- Interns:
- 2 during the day
- 1 overnight
EMR
- Epic
Requirements
- Fellowship trained in Surgical Critical Care
- DEA required
- CSR required
- MA license preferred (will consider candidates without active MA license)
