Intern - Product Engineering Distribution

You will learn about departmental and corporate functions and have opportunities to network with other Mapfre employees and interns in the program. Interns will also participate as a team in a Day of Caring community service project.

This is a 10-week summer internship from June 1, 2026 and ending August 7, 2026. Interns will typically work a 5-day workweek  hours / week. Interns work with their department supervisor to determine weekly schedules. Interns must commit to the 10-week program for the summer and participate in planned training and activities.

Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college degree program. Must be able to provide own transportation.

You will be part of a collaborative team responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications. Candidate will work under the guidance of senior engineers and contribute to the full software development lifecycle.

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Assist in the design and implementation of new features and enhancements.
• Debug and resolve software defects and issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, Product, and Dev Ops.
• Document technical specifications and system designs.

• Proven hands-on experience in software development and coding.
• Strong understanding of database systems and cloud application architecture.
• Practical experience in both frontend and backend development.
• Familiarity with cloud-native applications and microservices-based architectures.
• Solid grasp of Agile methodologies and practices.
• Proficient in using version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket), including branching and merging strategies.
• Awareness of Dev Sec Ops  principles and practices.
• Understanding of application performance metrics and their impact on system behavior.

The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Hourly Range $27.00 - $29.00
