CDL Driver - 3rd shift

Summary

Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor‑trailer or box truck to deliver finished product to customers in accordance with state and federal laws.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 11pm – 11am

• Complies with driver responsibilities as outlined in company DAART program and as required by DOT.
• Maintain vehicle in accordance to Elkhart Transportation management policy.
• Operates vehicle safely and efficiently, complying with company policy, procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
• Supports on‑time delivery by transporting loads by established route to proper destination as efficiently as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Inspects trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and validates the correct load before leaving facility.
• Verifies product count while truck is being loaded.
• Obtains correct acknowledgement or signature and date for bill of lading and necessary signatures; returns properly completed documentation to Transportation Manager.
• Complies with performance measures.
• Duties may vary depending on location.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDL A License.

• Prior experience driving large vehicles such as box trucks.
• Demonstrated experience practicing safe driving practices.
• Previous experience delivering and handling freight preferred.

• Regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear.
• The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, ambient temperatures, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and loud noise. The employee may encounter traffic or other hazardous driving conditions on the road.
