The Shift Lead assists the store manager in planning, directing and controlling the operation of the store and supervision of employees to control production, inventory, merchandising, losses, gross and net profit and hours of work in all departments. They assist in supervising the ordering of product to fill the store, support sales plans, and maximize sales, in addition to insuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

They are responsible for all hiring, firing, promotions, demotions and disciplinary actions for all employees.

• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Handle hiring, firing, promotions, demotions and disciplinary actions for all employees.
• Provide verbal and written direction to employees and conduct meetings to communicate results and direction.
• Develop and enforce company policies and procedures; establish and administer rules and regulations.
• Read and interpret financial statements, including profit and loss, and set objectives to overcome deficiencies.
• Operate and program cash registers and balance store cash; manage cash handling procedures.
• Supervise, recruit and train employees; assist in scheduling and reporting.
• Deal effectively with vendors, suppliers, competitors, employees and employee representatives; maintain professional relations.
• Maintain equipment operation and safety within the store.

• Pass a drug test and pre-employment drug screen.
• Normally work a maximum 10 hour day.
• Possess good interpersonal skills, be mature and a proven leader.
• Read, write, add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Develop and enforce company policies and procedures; be a self-starter.
• Travel to and from work as needed.
• Provide verbal and written instructions; read and interpret financial statements including profit and loss.
• Able to program a cash register and balance store cash.
• Provide direction to employees and assist in supervising, recruiting and training.
• Discipline employees when necessary and assist in establishing rules and regulations.
• Age requirement: 18+ for duties requiring minimum age.
