Research Associate## Department:
FAES | Animal Sciences The Research Associate conducts basic and applied research under the supervision of Dr. Kichoon Lee in the Department of Animal Sciences. The position focuses on poultry science research, including the production of gene-edited (knockout) poultry using CRISPR/Cas9 technology and the development of poultry lines resistant to bacterial and viral infections.
Duties and Responsibilities:
(70%) Collaborates with the Principal Investigator to identify and define research objectives and problems to be studied;
Plans, designs, and performs complex experimental procedures and protocols;
Coordinates, collects, manages, and analyzes research data;
Prepares research results for dissemination through reports, manuscripts, journal articles, books, presentations, conferences, and other scholarly media;
Assists with laboratory techniques and operates specialized laboratory equipment. (30%) Assists with preparation for seminars, talks, and lectures as assigned;
Provides day-to-day supervision and training of assigned students;
Performs routine laboratory maintenance and maintains laboratory supplies;
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 3 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 1 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree.
Prior experience handling and breeding poultry species;
Working knowledge of bacteriology and genetics;
Strong analytical, organizational, and scientific writing skills;
Ability to work independently with moderate supervision## Additional Information:
