Seaman Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician – Night Shift to join our Operations team! This position will report to the Maintenance Supervisor in Wooster.
As of February 1, 2026, we will transition to a 24/7 rotation with a 4:3 schedule. Must be able to work within that schedule. Night shift will be 7p-7a.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the timely, effective, and efficient repair and maintenance of all equipment, plumbing, and electrical service to the building and surrounding property. Maintenance technician will assist and take direction from the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all areas of responsibility run efficiently
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Promote safety and safety awareness by keeping the work area clean, wearing safety glasses and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), properly handling tools, machinery and equipment, and following posted safety and security procedures; must respond quickly to emergencies in order to prevent injury and damage to personnel and equipment; ensure standard operating procedures are followed, monitored; ensure adherence to company policy and regulations.
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on plant systems and mechanical equipment as skill level dictates using diagrams, sketches, manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications (i.e., motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production equipment); furnish tools, supplies, and parts, as needed, for proper repair to ensure the safe and efficient use of all equipment; safely operate and maintain the proper working condition of tools, equipment, and machinery;
lubricate and clean parts. - Perform minor electrical repairs such as replacing fuses, switches, solenoids, and gates; troubleshoot electrical problems with the use of a voltmeter/amp meter or other instruments to test components, check amperage, etc.; inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Dismantle devices to gain access to, and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools; repair and/or replace defective parts.
- Set up and operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, horizontal band saws, end mills, vertical band saws, pipe threaders, and other metalworking tools to maintain or repair parts and tools.
