Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Manager

Stature Strategy has been engaged by our client to identify qualified candidates to assume the position of Plant Controller (“Controller”). The Controller will partner closely with the Corporate Controller and CFO to oversee and support all financial operations for the Wooster, Ohio and Clyde, Ohio facilities, which are approximately 1,200,000 square feet total. This role will play a critical role in driving financial performance, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making at the plant level.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting group and provide leadership/mentorship to Accounting Manager and Accounting staff.
• Maintain general ledger and financial records in accordance with GAAP.
• Provide timely financial reports to plant and corporate leadership.
• Report on the monthly status of capital projects.
• Participate in financial justification of major capital project.
• Prepare annual budgets and standard overhead rates.
• Prepare rolling 12-month financial forecasts and 13-week cash forecast.
• Participate in physical inventory planning and execution.
• Support annual financial and tax audits.
• Evaluate and improve internal controls, systems, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Required Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to complete all the normal month end closing and related tasks, entries, etc.
• Communicate at a high-level with senior leadership.
• Manufacturing experience is a necessity; automotive experience is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• MBA or CPA.
• Experience in an ESOP environment.
