Impact the future with a position as an Early Childhood Prevention Specialist at Pathway Caring for Children 20 Hours a Week!
Early Childhood Prevention Specialists promote resiliency while providing consultation and early intervention support in classrooms and childcare settings. Specialists build resilience, strengthen social-emotional skills, coach staff, and partner with families to support healthy development. Prevention services are delivered through evidence-based programming in group settings. Specialists collaborate with schools, community organizations, and families to increase awareness and strengthen support systems. Training is provided to ensure Specialists can confidently plan and implement evidence-based programs.
QualificationsThe successful applicant for this position shall have minimum high school diploma with bachelor s degree preferred and have at least 6 months experience working with young children; early childhood credentialing preferred; experience in working with groups and ability to work well with many different types of people; possess a valid driver s license, a good driving record, the ability to drive to community locations in Wooster, and automotive liability insurance.
This person must meet the background screening as defined in OAC code 5101:2-5-09. Demonstrates consideration, understanding and humility for the diversity of the children and families served by Pathway.
- Provide early childhood prevention programming using evidence-based curriculum (DINA Dinosaur School).
- Conduct classroom observations, provide consultation, and teacher coaching focused on social-emotional development.
- Model developmentally appropriate practices and behavior support strategies.
- Develop and facilitate childcare staff and caregiver events to support social-emotional development, parent education, resiliency, and prevention.
- Provide coordination and referral to community services as needed.
- Complete assessments, documentation, and outcome measures.
- Provide behavioral health case management and advocacy for families.
- Act as an advocate for young children, their families, and childcare providers.
- Position will be based out of Wooster, with occasional travel to the Canton Administrative Office.
