The Senior Manager, Sports Sponsorship Commercialization, is a key member of a small, high-performing team dedicated to strengthening the CVS brand in an increasingly competitive marketplace. This position calls for an experienced “strategy athlete” responsible for supporting comprehensive sponsorship strategies that align with our company's goals and objectives. This role requires a strategic marketer with a deep understanding of the sports industry and a proven track record in managing and activating high-value sponsorship deals.

This position will be responsible for partnering with teams such as enterprise brand strategy, media, marketing strategy, merchandising, store operations, creative and analytics with the goal of positioning CVS for sustained and innovative brand growth through sponsor ships. Key responsibilities include supporting the activation of multi-year partnership agreements with the National Women’s Soccer League and United States Soccer Federation. Additionally, there is an untapped opportunity related to partnerships with CPG suppliers who have their own sponsor ships across major sports and are looking to uniquely activate at CVS.
The ideal candidate for this role will blend their expertise in sports sponsorship strategy with compelling activation abilities. Strong project management skills and the ability to build relationships across the enterprise are critical for success in this role.
Primary Role And Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic sponsorship plans to maximize revenue and brand exposure with a focus on retail activations
- Bring deep-rooted expertise to evaluate and maximize our sponsor ships and the value we get from them
- Establish the sports sponsorship practice and step change and improve what we do today
- Maximize CVS brand equity and financial value by evaluating how to activate sponsor ships at the local store and community level
- Identify optimization opportunities across existing sponsorship and build compelling recommendations around shifts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential sponsors.
- Collaborate with marketing, merchandising and other business unit leaders to create compelling sponsorship activations
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to stay ahead in the industry
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sponsorship programs and make data-driven recommendations for improvement
- Prepare and present regular reports on sponsorship performance to senior management
- Identify opportunities to grow our sponsorship portfolio to drive deeper brand consideration and engagement
- Establish management routines and operating model
- Partner closely with Front Store Marketing to bring sponsorship activations to life for the retail business
- Maintain a forward-looking mindset, consistently evaluating growth opportunities for CVS specific to both direct sponsor ships as well as third-party pass-through opportunities with CPG partners
