Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner

Overview

Robertson and Caine, a catamaran manufacturing company in Cape Town, is looking to appoint a suitably qualified, and experienced Occupational Health Nursing Practitioner to join the expanding Occupational Health Team. The successful applicant must have a sound working knowledge of running an Occupational Health Clinic and preferably have experience working in a manufacturing environment.

• Occupational Health examinations, including Spirometry and Audiometry.
• Plan and coordinate Biological Monitoring.
• Management of Injuries on Duty and completion of legislative documents.
• Arrange with an external medical service provider for professional assistance should a team member need assistance.
• Management of COIDA documentation.
• Assist with Health Risk Assessments.
• Rendering limited Primary Health Care services including Family Planning.
• Assist with Health Education.
• Manage clinic stock and waste disposal.
• Management of Medical Emergencies.

• Minimum Qualification:
  
  B Degree or Diploma in Nursing with a post graduate qualification in Occupational Health. Ideal
• Qualifications:
  
  Audiometry, Spirometry, Family Planning, Basic Life Support, Dispensing Licence including refresher training is required.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related field.
• Indemnity Insurance.
• Member of SASOHN.
• Current Registration with South African Nursing Council.
• It would be beneficial if experience has been gained within a manufacturing industry.
