Senior Technician, Refrigeration/HVAC – Walmart

Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. This role supports and oversees repair and maintenance of the Walmart facilities' Refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility Refrigeration HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills with hand tools, digital tools and power tools.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by performing work according to Walmart’s safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights as required.

• 10 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Alternative: 8 years experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and AAS in A/C and Refrigeration.

• Completion of a 2‑year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2‑year associate’s in A/C and refrigeration.
• Excellent driving record.
• Prior work experience with glycol and CO₂ systems.

• Hourly wage range: $26.00–$51.00, depending on skills, experience, and job offer level.
• Additional compensation in the form of premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
• Eligible for bonus incentives.
