Modern Shade is a white glove design & build construction team that specializes in installing high-quality, functional, low-maintenance, modern outdoor patio shade systems for residential and commercial projects throughout Utah and some surrounding states.
We are looking to bring on 1-2 new craftsman installers for full-time work to help us install and maintain these systems.
Ideal candidate already has experience in building pergolas or motorized shade screens; we're also open to other skilled trade members with experience in carpentry, framing, or siding, ideally with the use of aluminum or steel.
ResponsibilitiesThe Craftsman Installer Level 2 will use carpenter skills to build/install and repair various structures and equipment throughout Utah and surrounding states where projects may be active.
Provides more instruction to Level 1 Craftsman Installers in relation to the installation and repairs.
Builds and repairs Stru Xure aluminum patio shade products and Progressive motorized screens.
Operates all necessary tools to complete a job.
Ensures tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimal performance and safety.
Advanced understanding of running and wiring low voltage and high voltage electrical work as needed.
Provide daily updates and communication to clients relating to their projects in the absence of a Foreman.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Pass drug test and background screening.
- Excellent attention to detail is a must.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects.
- Show up to the job site or office on time and work consistent job site hours.
- Show up to the job site or office in approved job site attire (i.e. composite/steel toe shoes, pants or shorts, non-tattered shirt / NO tank tops).
- Proven experience with the correct and safe operation of all related tools and equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate the specifications for projects.
- Ability to take accurate measurements and calculations.
- Understanding and ability to navigate management software (CRM, Bidding, Project Photos, etc).
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to squat, lift, stretch, and bend in order to reach all areas of the work site.
- Must be able to work in and on overhead structures, as well as below from ladders and scaffolding.
- Fluent and easily understandable bi-lingual Spanish/English skill is rewarded with an extra $1.50 per hour
