Pharmacy Tech/Program Support Coordinator – Care Med Specialty Pharmacy, Woodridge, IL
Full‑time position, Monday to Friday daytime hours.
Starting pay $22/hr plus quarterly incentive bonuses and a $500 bonus for obtaining CPhT and/or CPhT‑ADV credentials.

- Receives and coordinates all program referrals and performs activities such as savings card activation, insurance verification, test claims, prescription billing, and billing error resolution.
- Provides prior authorization assistance and customer service.
- Serves as primary contact for patient and physician calls, and forwards clinical calls to staff pharmacists.
- Documents and notates all updates in patient profiles.
- Handles customer complaints, documents, and forwards to appropriate team members.
- Ensures prescriptions are billed in accordance with Medicare/DMEPOS, federal, state, and local regulations.
- Communicates with the Department Supervisor and/or Program Director on program updates or obstacles.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal/written communication, computer/data entry/software proficiency, interpersonal skills, self‑discipline, attention to detail, and maintains strict confidentiality.
- Works as a team player, accepts and promotes organizational goals with minimal supervision.
- Plans and organizes work effectively, meets productivity requirements within expected time frames, and meets deadlines.
- Demonstrates initiative and strives to continually improve processes and relationships.
- Associates degree or equivalent program from a two‑year college/technical school, or pharmacy/healthcare certificate program (preferred).
- Licensed with the state Board of Pharmacy; PTCB certification preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ pharmacy experience required; retail pharmacy experience preferred.
- Superior customer service level and understanding of department operations.
- Familiar with general pharmacy terminology, billing quantity, SIG codes, roman numerals, brand and generic medication names, and IV dosage calculations/day supply.
- Proficient in data entry, verbal skills, computer skills, and learning the department’s software system.
