I.Job Summary
The Driver Container safely operates a heavy‑duty crane‑mounted truck and transports material containers to and from customer locations. Drivers navigate driveways, alleyways, lots, high‑traffic roadways and tight overhead environments, employing highly skilled backing maneuvers.
II.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate vehicle in accordance with WM Safety, Life Critical Rules, OSHA and DOT requirements and all local, municipal, state and federal laws.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, document checks on standard DVIR.
- Immediately report unsafe situations or service‑related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
- Participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings and meetings required by WM or Operations Manager.
- Work closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
- Notify Operations Manager of incidents, accidents, injuries or property damage.
- Notify Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed lots, street, alleyways or potential safety hazards.
- Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
- Complete and submit customer tickets as required.
- Complete site evaluations to ensure locations are conductive for safe and proper servicing.
- Position and/or return container on the customer’s property in a manner that keeps lids and doors properly replaced and does not block driveway entrances or traffic.
- Follow route assignments, complete end‑of‑day documentation and check‑out process.
- Perform all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
This job has no supervisory duties.

:
One (1) year(s) of relevant work experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent military driving within the last 7 years. - Hold a current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with an air brake endorsement.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment DOT drug screen and DOT physical.
- Complete classroom training and demonstrate safe crane operation. (Some states may require certification.)
- Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

- Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger and leg dexterity.
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects more than 50 pounds frequently.
- Requires pushing, pulling, bending, twisting and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Normal setting: outdoors and/or driving a GPS‑monitored vehicle.
- Exposed to dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday.
The expected base pay rate for this on‑site position is $25.50. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications and work location.
