Job Overview

Lead Trailer Mechanic at Amerit Fleet Solutions in Woodland, CA responsible for timely repair and maintenance of heavy‑duty trailers and diesel engines, including yard goats or switchers, and supervision of employees and garage operations.

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Pay: $34.00 /hour – $40.00 /hour DOE.

• Coordinate shift work with fleet manager.
• Supervise 2+ employees while working.
• Update, close, and work on work orders with drivers.
• Maintain, order, and update parts inventory.
• Prepare vehicle records and report manually and on computer.
• Perform safety inspections and prepare required documentation.
• Inspect and perform work on underparts of vehicles.
• Access any area of equipment or vehicle for maintenance.
• Move parts to and from job site and install on vehicle.
• Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.

• At least 5 years vehicle maintenance experience or heavy‑duty trailer repair expertise.
• At least 2 years supervising 2+ mechanics while working.
• Own hand tools and toolbox.
• Ability to read schematics and related processes.
• Proficient computer skills:
  Excel, Word, fleet management systems, email.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Heavy traffic area exposure while performing duties.
• Exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, chemicals, oils, greases, or irritants.
• Access any area of equipment or vehicle for maintenance.
• Move and position heavy objects.
• Bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl to repair vehicles.
• Work outside in various weather conditions.
