Position

Summary

The QFS Coordinator is responsible for ensuring product quality and compliance throughout the supply chain process. This role combines data analytics, supplier performance monitoring, co-man performance and quality control principles to drive continuous improvement, reduce risk, and enhance the integrity of materials and products from suppliers through to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supply Chain Quality Oversight
    • Monitor and evaluate supplier quality performance through audits, scorecards, and KPI tracking.
    • Work with procurement and quality teams to resolve supplier issues and implement corrective actions.
    • Assist in qualifying new suppliers and ensuring they meet company quality standards.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Analyze data from suppliers, co-manufacturing, manufacturing and logistics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
    • Create regular reports and dashboards to communicate quality metrics and compliance across the supply chain.
    • Support root cause analysis and implement preventive measures using data-driven insights.
  • Process Improvement
    • Develop and enhance quality assurance processes within the supply chain.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline quality checks, inspection procedures, and material traceability.
    • Support initiatives in supplier development, co-manufacturing and continuous improvement (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Compliance & Documentation
    • Ensure supply chain activities comply with internal standards and external regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, GMP, FDA, GFSI).
    • Maintain accurate records of supplier quality agreements, audits, and CAPAs.
    • Support the preparation of documentation for audits and inspections.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Quality Assurance, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in quality, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with supplier quality management and audit processes

Skills And Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NAV), and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of quality and food safety management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, HACCP, GMP) and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent grasp of Microsoft Office programs and ERP/MRP systems, typing and report writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Sense of urgency & ability to meet deadlines.
  • Self-directed and able to independently execute job requirements.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Certifications/Licenses

SQF or other GFSI approved scheme or ability to become certified. HACCP, or ability to become certified.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in food manufacturing, vegetable oil or grain industry preferred.
  • Certification in quality or supply chain management (e.g., ASQ CQE, APICS).
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements specific to the industry (FDA, FGIS/USDA).
Working Conditions
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
