Position Title: In-House Counsel
A family-owned residential property management company is seeking a full-time practicing attorney with expertise in multifamily property management law, particularly in areas governed by the Los Angeles Rent Stabilization Ordinance. This role is essential in providing legal support and ensuring compliance with various regulations affecting the organization. The In-House Counsel will collaborate closely with leadership to address a wide range of legal matters, including litigation, contract review, and compliance audits.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000 / Year DOE
In-House Counsel Responsibilities- Responding timely to summons and legal notices
- Engaging in discussions or settlement talks with opposing legal counsel
- Tracking active insurance claims and maintaining case files
- Coordinating with insurance carriers for documentation and verification requests
- Participating in mediations as required
- Assisting in defending the company in non-insured matters
- Representing the company in small claims court when necessary
- Reviewing and auditing lease documents for compliance with regulations
- Staying current on legal changes affecting multifamily housing
- Reviewing standard agreements with vendors
- Providing legal guidance on escalated resident issues
- Assisting with evictions in collaboration with attorneys
- Supporting various legal matters related to ownership and operations
- Real Estate Law experience with liability management and compliance
- Contract oversight
- Insurance relations management
- Knowledge of ADA and property management law
- Licensed to practice in California
- Exposure to HR law is preferred
- Medical benefits after 30 days, with employer contribution of $450
