Job Description:

Music Reports, Inc., based in Woodland Hills, CA., is seeking a passionate and talented individual to serve as a Quality Analyst within the Product Management Team. This individual will work alongside the product, delivery and engineering teams to enhance legacy application componentry while also supporting a digital transformation effort supporting global music rights management and royalty distribution.

This individual will partner with Product Managers and Technical Leads to drive documentation of test cases at multiple levels in the SDLC to ensure story and feature acceptance criteria are successfully achieved while aligning to business requirements and objectives.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to following:

Key responsibilities:

• Build, execute, and maintain regression and feature-specific test cases to ensure functionality, quality, and coverage of core workflows.
• Review business, functional, and technical requirements to clarify acceptance criteria and testability.
• Design, document, and maintain in Jira detailed test plans, test cases, and test data for new and existing features.
• Execute manual tests (functional, regression, integration, exploratory) and clearly document results.
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, severity, and impact, and verify fixes through regression testing.
• Daily partnering with in-house and third-party team members (developers, automation testers, and product managers) to refine requirements, improve test coverage, and prevent issues early in the SDLC.
• Monitor and report on key quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, test coverage).
• Help improve QA processes, tooling, and standards, including code review for tests and continuous integration practices.
• Be available through 10:30 PM IST at least three times per sprint.

Qualifications:

• Experience in software quality assurance, testing web or backend applications in an Agile or Dev Ops environment.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, types of testing, and defect lifecycle.
• Hands‑on experience writing and executing test cases, with at least basic experience in test automation tools or frameworks.
• Ability to query and validate data (e.g., SQL) and interpret logs to troubleshoot issues.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to describe issues prec and collaborate across disciplines.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and with writing automated tests that QA/automation engineers can integrate into build and release workflows.
• Experience in requirements analysis for complex business domains.
• Prior experience in the following technologies:
• Atlassian application suite (JIRA, Confluence JIRA Service Manager)
• Amazon Web Services
• Python
• Airflow
• Liferay or other micro-UI platforms
• Strong experience in Scrum and Kanban serving in a QA role
• Music industry domain knowledge a plus
• 5+ years in Quality Assurance role serving in software development
