Job Title – Ethnic Studies Instructor, Full Time – Tenure Track
Location – Woodland Community College – Woodland, CA
Job DescriptionWoodland Community College seeks an equity‑minded, dynamic, collaborative, and innovative instructor to serve as an Ethnic Studies faculty member. The successful candidate will organize and teach a diverse curriculum in Ethnic Studies disciplines, including but not limited to:
- Introduction to Ethnic Studies
- History of Race and Ethnicity
- Comparative Ethnic Studies courses (e.g., Intro Ethnic Studies, History of Race)
- Additional courses in the candidate’s specialization area
The instructor will develop and assess student learning outcomes, evaluate student progress, and participate in professional development opportunities that advance equity, inclusion, and diversity. Evening, weekend, distance education, and off‑campus instruction may be part of the contract. The college offers courses in in‑person, online, hybrid, and point‑to‑point interactive modalities and the successful candidate will utilize instructional technologies effectively for inclusion and accessibility.
Required QualificationsThe candidate must possess a master’s degree in one of the following areas or an equivalent ethnically‑focused discipline:
- African‑American / Black / Africana Studies
- Latino / Chicana / La Raza Studies
- Native American / American Indian Studies
- Asian‑American and Pacific Islander Studies
- Ethnic Studies (or an equivalent discipline)
Applicants who do not meet the exact minimum qualifications may submit an Equivalency Form with their application. The district’s equivalency procedures enable qualified individuals to apply regardless of the specific discipline listed above.
Preferred Qualifications- Interest or experience with community engagement or community projects.
- Trained to teach comparative Ethnic Studies courses (Intro Ethnic Studies and History of Race).
Standard faculty responsibilities; no extraordinary physical demands.
Salary Range$66,781 – $111,847 per year (per the full‑time faculty salary schedule).
