Overview
Woodland Community College is seeking an equity-minded, dynamic, collaborative, and innovative History instructor for a full-time, tenure-track position.
One of two colleges in the Yuba Community College District, Woodland Community College is located in Woodland, CA. The area offers quality of life with access to outdoor recreation, a farm-to-fork scene, and proximity to Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area. The college serves over 3,000 unduplicated students annually in multiple associate and certificated programs and is committed to equity and student-centered learning.
Responsibilities- Organize and teach history courses, including United States history, western civilization, and world civilization.
- Develop and assess curriculum and course offerings; keep courses up to date and relevant.
- Engage in culturally responsive and accessible pedagogy and support an inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with area high schools and other stakeholders; participate in professional development to advance inclusion, intercultural communication, and equity.
- As part of a community of educators, perform instructional duties as assigned and utilize instructional technologies effectively for inclusion and accessibility. Evening, weekend, distance education, and off-campus instruction may be required. Courses may be offered in-person, online, hybrid, or point-to-point formats.
- Master’s in history OR
- Bachelor’s in history AND Master’s in political science, humanities, geography, area studies, women’s studies, social science or ethnic studies OR
- The equivalent

- By the final filing date, applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for instructors in History at California Community Colleges.
- As a condition of employment, an applicant will be required to provide fingerprints to the local police department; fees charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI for the fingerprint report are the employee’s responsibility. Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the first day of work.
- Education Code §87408.6 requires an examination within the past 60 days to determine free of active tuberculosis.
