As aSenior Tax Manager/Principal,you will be a key player in enabling
Kelly+Partners’ next phase of growth. The successful applicant will become an integral part of the broader team and will be exposed to a variety of clients and the opportunity to learn in a public practice environment.
- Files federal, state, and local tax documents inclusive of annual returns, extensions, and informational returns.
- Prepares tax provision schedules by reviewing, preparing, andconsolidatingprovision schedules.
- Recommends tax strategies by researching federal, state, and local taxation issues.
- Maintains legislative materials by reviewing, interpreting, and implementing new or revised laws.
- Reviews tax returns (1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, and 1120S) for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist direct reports through preparation of tax returns and related work papers.
- Maintains compliance with regulations byforwardingrequired information to federal, state, and local authorities.
- Revises procedures by developing and streamlining procedures and worksheets for tax filings.
- Identifies profitability of potential mergers and acquisitions by analyzing tax information; calculating key ratios;identifying areas of tax savings.
- Coordinate andmaintainrecords for firm andfirm’sclients.
- Prepares and records book-to-tax adjusting entries.
- Avoids legal challenges by complying withlegal requirements and adhering to professional standards.
- Protects organization'svalue by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge byparticipatingin educational opportunities,reading professional publications,maintaining personal networks,participating in professional organizations.
- Create andmodifytemplates for letters, faxes, and firm literature.
- Providing regular feedback and direction to staff ensuring work papers are consistently formatted and appropriately named and organized.
- Liaise with clients and vendors.
- Provide support to other staff and affiliates.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Active
CPA (required) or EA. - 8+ years of experience in tax compliance (preparation and review).
- Experience with Thomson Reuters tax software, including:
Ultra Tax, Work papers CS,Sure Prep, Safe Send - Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
