Description
Teller County’s Department of Human Services is seeking a full-time Social Caseworker II - Adult Protection responsible for the implementation of interventions and the development of care plans for at-risk adults with the goal of correcting or alleviating situations in which imminent or actual danger of abuse, neglect, or exploitation exists. This role works as part of a team to review reports of adult abuse, neglect or exploitation to determine if an investigation should be initiated and investigates referrals to determine if abuse, neglect or exploitation occurred and implement supports and services.

Education/
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with an equivalent of thirty (30) semester or forty-five (45) quarter hours in human behavioral sciences or health care related course such as social work, sociology, psychology, psychiatry, gerontology, nursing, special education, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures, therapeutic techniques, guidance and counseling, criminal justice, other human behavioral sciences or a medical field relevant to the APS program and /or at risk adults;
- Plus one (1) year of professional casework experience;
- Any acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the listed knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.
You Also Have These Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of: dynamics of disabled adults and the elderly; casework practices, procedures and guidelines; investigatory techniques and practices utilized in obtaining information; principles and processes for providing excellent customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Skilled in: use of basic computer software programs; understanding and applying pertinent laws, rules, regulations and policies; using tact, discretion, initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines; maintaining confidentiality; organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines and following up on assignments with minimum direction and supervision; applying logical thinking to solve problems or accomplish tasks; understanding, interpreting and communicating complicated policies, procedures and protocols;
working in a deadline driven environment; initiating and responding to medium volume of daily calls/contact; interacting with all levels of internal and external professionals while developing strong productive relationships; designing strategies, analyzing results and making recommendations; organization and time management.
