Overview
Are you passionate about working with exotics, birds, and wildlife? Do you want more variety in your work life? We are currently looking to hire a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team at Animal Clinic of Woodland Park in Woodland Park, Colorado.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care in a hospital or outdoor setting as a Registered Veterinary Technician.
- Assist with anesthesia monitoring and surgical procedures, including pre-operative and post-operative care, intubation, and monitoring.
- Perform dental procedures such as scaling, polishing, and extractions; assist with suturing as required.
- Place IV catheters, urinary catheters, and apply casts, bandages, and splints.
- Maintain laboratory skills including cytology setup and interpretation.
- Utilize diagnostic tools including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided procedures (e.g., cystocentesis).
- Demonstrate strong animal handling and restraint for a variety of species and effective communication with clients and team members.
- Contribute to a collaborative team by performing all other duties of a Registered Veterinary Technician as allowable by law.
- 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in Colorado, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire required.
- Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment; passion for working with small animals, birds, exotics, and their owners.
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills for a variety of species; excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical support; familiarity with dental procedures and laboratory work.
- Salary: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.
