Paver Operator

Overview

Up to a $500 Hiring Bonus! AA Asphalting is the Pacific Northwest's leading asphalt and concrete restoration provider with more than 45 years of experience. We serve Washington and Oregon and work with public utilities, government agencies, general contractors, and businesses. We are looking for an experienced Paver Operator who likes to work outside and takes pride in a job completed safely and efficiently.

• Drive and operate pavers and related equipment (e.g., backhoes, grinders, graders, lowboys, rollers, jackhammers, compressors, and trucks).
• Perform material movement, leveling, grading, and paving according to job specifications.
• Check equipment daily for oil, fluid levels, damage, and wear; fuel equipment as needed.
• Determine speed and direction based on material compressibility and temperature to minimize ridges and excessive pressure.
• Understand paving prep work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, oil consistencies, and compaction.
• Report damage or required repairs to the on-duty mechanic in a timely manner.
• Complete and submit equipment checklists daily.
• Load and unload equipment from trailers; ensure equipment is properly secured.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned at the end of each job and day.
• Operate equipment safely at all times and prohibit riders on equipment during operation.
• Follow all safety rules and practices; perform preventive safety measures.
• Perform non-operator, general labor duties as needed (driving, shoveling, raking, rolling, and flagging).

• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Class A CDL preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work weekends and occasional nights.
• Ability to travel to various worksites.
• Ability to work long hours and in all weather conditions.

This position may be designated as safety-sensitive and is subject to Drug and Alcohol testing per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). All new CDL Drivers will be subject to the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse checks before performing safety-sensitive functions. New CDL Driver hires must register for the Clearinghouse and consent to reviewing their records. Pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check are required.
