What the Role Offers - Principal Project Manager - Manufacturing Operations (Contract)

As a Principal Project Manager – Manufacturing Operations, you’ll provide strategic cross-functional project management and leadership skills across Manufacturing, Quality, and Facilities Engineering. Your responsibilities include developing, driving, managing, evaluating, and maintaining key strategic or operational activities that influence senior management decision-making. You’ll translate manufacturing strategy into efficient executable plans, interface with senior management, and manage project planning efforts, including prioritization.

Additionally, you’ll proactively address changes, drive high-quality project deliverables, and oversee project financial reporting.

This is a 6-month contract position located in our Woodinville, WA office.

What You Need to Succeed
:

  • This position reports into the Chief Operating Officer for day-to-day activities with a dotted line reporting to the VP of Quality and Validation, Director of Manufacturing and Director of Facilities & Engineering.
  • Provides project management and leadership skills across multiple operational groups to include:
    Manufacturing, Quality, and Facilities Engineering.
  • Co-creates the company’s manufacturing operations strategy and translates it into an efficient and achievable operational plan including formulating the project scope, execution strategies and critical paths with support and guidance from the COO, their staff and executive team.
  • Leads multidisciplinary teams in predicting and planning solutions to achieve successful execution, driving the team to achieve clarity on issues, interfacing with senior management and influencing the decision-making process.
  • Acts as an internal resource and manufacturing operations consultant, including teaching and mentoring the COO’s executive team about best practices.
  • Proactively identifies potential issues and obstacles and manages changes in project scope by creating contingency plans in a constantly changing environment.
  • Creates and maintains the project plan with stakeholder input, and provides project status reporting including development and maintenance of project documents and communication tools (i.e. Gantt Chart/Smartsheet)
  • Manages project financial reporting and tracking budget to actuals.

Required Qualifications
:

  • B.A. / B.S. is required. Advanced degree, specifically in biological sciences or engineering is preferred.
  • PMP certification or similar experience is required. Must have expertise in MS Project/Smartsheet. Must have experience with scheduling software (i.e. Procore, Schedule Pro).
  • Minimum of 8 years' project management experience with increasing complexity in manufacturing operations within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Knowledge and understanding of product development processes, preferably in biologics, regulatory pathways for biologics (e.g. FDA, EMA), and knowledge of cGCP, cGLP and cGMP.
  • Knowledge of risk management, project reporting, and project management tools required.
