Job Title

Part‑Time Sales Teammate at The Buckle, Inc.

Job Summary

The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” In addition, Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by Store Management, such as cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay range: $13‑$15/hr this estimate is the budgeted amount for the position; final offers are based on skill set, experience, location, and other factors. For sales positions Buckle pays a base rate plus commission on sales. The base rate plus commission range is the estimated payment for a Sales Teammate.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and consistently provide legendary service.
  • Answer questions regarding store merchandise, recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs and desires.
  • Anticipate and fulfill guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobe‑building experience.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education, consistently sharing that knowledge with teammates.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, payment policies, and security practices.
  • Achieve personal sales goals set by Store Management, including sales‑per‑hour and total net sales targets.
  • Provide legendary service throughout the store’s front five, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area.
  • Assist guests with fitting or altering merchandise.
  • Handle checkout, bag purchases, and prepare merchandise for alterations.
  • Use the Sales Presentation Guide daily to meet performance standards.
  • Place special orders or call other stores for desired merchandise.
  • Maintain guest relationships to develop a client‑based business.
  • Perform leadership actions and maintain high standards, regardless of manager presence.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Recruit teammates by utilizing Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals, and Teammate Recommend.
  • Create relationships through Guest Loyalty programs.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful floor culture.
  • Present merchandise to maximize sales and manage inventory turnover.
  • Collaborate with teammates to identify product improvements and new ideas.
  • Operate flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and major holidays.
  • Operate cash registers, balance drawers, and handle transactions securely.
  • Follow Loss Prevention guidelines and conduct daily bag and purse checks.
  • Interfere with security risks, thefts, and loss prevention practices.
  • Execute merchandising tasks: handling freight, re‑merchandising, preparing displays, and completing price markdowns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, shoppable store to fulfill the mission statement.
  • Communicate policy violations and guest concerns to management promptly and confidentially.
  • Apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and all policies.
  • Accept special projects and other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience

No prior experience or training required.

Physical Demands

Stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, sit, and lift up to 30 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Regular moderate noise levels in a retail environment.
