Fairview is hiring a Nursing Station Technician (NST) to join our Pre & Post Op team at our Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN.

Schedule: This position will be working 80 hours every 2 weeks on the Day/Evening shift, Monday through Friday, 8-10 hour shifts and no weekends.

About the Pre & Post OP at Woodwinds:

• Woodwinds is a 86 bed hospital opened in 2000 locates on 30 acres of pristine wetlands in Woodbury MN.
• It is the only hospital in the southeast metro area. Woodwinds provides convenient, comprehensive and quality health care for the community.
• 7 OR Surgery Department, 20-25 cases per day, Patient age:18+
• Patient Population:
  
  General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ortho Spine, Podiatry, OB/GYN, Plastics, ENT, and Ophthalmology

In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service, teamwork and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team on a fast paced unit. Other job duties include:

• Patient care such as personal hygiene, vitals, daily activities, repositioning, transporting, and feeding
• Setting up and maintaining patient rooms
• Ordering and stocking of supplies
• Answering telephone calls as able

Qualifications to Fulfill

Job Responsibilities:

• Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants must be able to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program

AND ONE or more of the following:

• Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program.
• Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)
• Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program
• Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position
