Position SummaryWe have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Part Time MRI Technologist - Outpatient Imaging - Woodbury. In this role, under the direction of a Radiologist, you will operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images and perform procedures according to established standards, including patient identification, safety procedures, and completion of required forms before a patient leaves the examination area.
Job Responsibilities- Accurately utilize the PACS (Picture Archival System) to make images available to the radiologist for interpretation with minimal exceptions.
- Enter proper exam coding in the Radiology Information System and ensure exams are completed in a timely fashion.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies. Report any equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
- Instruct and supervise radiography students in clinical practicum. Collaborate with students to perform exams and provide image evaluation guidance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Operate MRI equipment to obtain diagnostic images of specified body areas as ordered and produce images for radiologist interpretation.
- Prepare and position or immobilize patients, provide clear instructions before beginning an exam, and ensure image quality aligns with departmental SOP guidelines.
- Follow safety protocols for patient and employee safety regarding the magnetic field and MRI safety practices.
Technical Diploma; graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services. New York State Radiologic Technologist License or New York State Radiologic Technologist Temp Permit. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Radiology or related health field. 1–2 years MRI technologist or training experience.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Salary information:
