Position: Group Life Coordinator 2 Pool - MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility

Overview

Group Life Coordinator 2 at Mac Laren Youth Correctional Facility, Woodburn, Oregon. This is a 24/7 youth correctional facility housing individuals aged 12 to 24, with the majority in the 18-24 range. Salary: GLC2 $ 27.83 - $35.22 hourly non-PERS; GLC1 $ 23.15 - $31.20 hourly non-PERS.

OYA is seeking qualified candidates to join our team as GLC2
. In this role you will contribute to a safe and secure environment for youth and staff by providing continuous interactive supervision, ensuring adherence to policies, supervising daily activities, building rapport, addressing behavior, modeling pro-social skills, and supporting treatment goals.

Responsibilities
  • Coaching, confronting, and correcting youth behavior as necessary.
  • Observing, documenting youth behavior and participation in programs.
  • Monitoring youth for health and safety risks, including suicide prevention.
  • Conducting security inspections and searches of youth living units and youth.
  • Administering medication to youth under indirect supervision of medical staff and maintaining contact with medical staff to ensure appropriate care.

    This recruitment will establish a list of qualified candidates to fill current and future vacancies in permanent, full-time, part-time, limited duration, and temporary roles.
  • Under-fill
    :
    We may consider under-filling at GLC1 with potential for advancing to GLC2 after meeting minimum qualifications; under-fill training will not exceed one year.
  • Salary:
    Comprehensive base offer within the listed range based on experience, skills, and education; pay equity considerations apply.
  • The listed salary range is for non-PERS; if you are PERS-eligible, the range may increase by 6%.
  • This position receives annual increases on the anniversary date until the maximum is reached.

Working Conditions

  • Physical standards for vision, hearing, dexterity, and fitness.
  • Transport youth as requested and operate state vehicles if in a security position.
Qualifications

GLC2 Qualifications
  • You must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent; AND
  • Six months of full-time experience observing, evaluating, developing, and monitoring human behavior and performance; OR
  • ACertificate or Associate degree in behavioral science, education, criminal justice, or related field.
Under-fill - GLC1 Qualifications
  • You must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Special Qualifications
  • You must be 21 years or older and possess a valid driver license and acceptable driving record.

Physical Abilities Test (PAT) is required. The PAT includes demonstrated ability across multiple elements such as dexterity, lifting, movement, endurance, and vision/hearing standards. Applicants may contact the facility for more information on PAT or the OYA Training Academy.
