Do you love sports? Prince William County Parks and Recreation is looking for instructors who can coach Soccer, Volleyball and/or Basketball at the Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center.
If you want to help kids dream and achieve their dreams, we want you to become one of the instructors who are passionate and want to inspire others. We provide a safe and fun environment that will help children grow and embrace sportsmanship. Proficiency comes next, along with skills, drills and playing strategies. Classes will be structured by predetermined guidelines.
This position will assist and lead classes of all levels from beginner to advanced. Candidates must be able to work night and weekend hours. Classes may be inside or outside and could be in a variety of weather conditions. This position requires a minimum of 1 year playing or coaching. Employee hours are based upon class enrollments and cannot be guaranteed.
Starting Payrate: $17.99/hr
Typical schedules are Monday through Friday evenings and all day on weekends. Weekday shifts average 2 hours per day and weekend shifts average 4 hours per day.
The Department of Parks and Recreation conducts DMV record checks on all licensed employees and criminal background checks on all hires age 18 years and older. Fingerprinting may be required.

NATURE OF WORKThis class is part of the Recreation Job Family. Incumbents perform routine work in connection with various recreation programs or activities. Instructors in this classification teach beginner level sports classes (e.g., t-ball, basketball, soccer and sports/outdoors camps). May provide daily upkeep and light maintenance of equipment and facility.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICSThis position is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable code of conduct rules and providing customer services. Work is performed in accordance with set procedures and guidelines, and deviation from those guidelines requires approval.
