Overview
U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management/infrastructure service organization, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to work at our VRE (Virginia Railway Express) locations throughout Greater Northern Virginia, including areas such as Spotsylvania, Manassas, Alexandria, Woodbridge and other surrounding areas.
Responsibilities- Maintenance workers are responsible to help and assist in the maintenance, electrical repair and carpentry work for VRE stations and facilities. Light troubleshooting abilities are required for a variety of machinery and equipment, including industrial machinery, electricity, plumbing, generators, etc.
- Assist installation, maintenance, and repair workers in maintenance, parts replacement, industrial machinery, and electrical and electronic equipment. Perform duties such as carpentry, general contract/labor, concrete work, drywall installation, machines and tools, and holding materials or tools for other workers.
- Provide preventive maintenance service to machinery, generators, etc.
- Provide daily and weekly inspection reports of equipment.
- Required to be on call as needed.
- Basic safety, power tools, handheld tools. Attentive and motivated.
- Use diagnostic tools, blueprints/manuals, and schematics effectively.
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs and repair records.
Note: May be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth above to address business needs and changing business practices.
Requirements Education/TrainingHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent, with computer training including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Licenses, Certifications, Requirements- Licensed Journeyman Electrician
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and successful completion of pre-employment drug screening.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is a requirement for this job.
- Considerable physical activity. Heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job, including climbing ladders and navigating confined spaces at times.
- Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations requiring extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
- Work involves almost constant exposure to extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
- Standard schedule typically includes a 40-hour week. May require evenings, weekends, or on-call.
