Guest Advocate (Cashier), General Merchandise, Fulfillment, Food and Beverage, Style (T0759) role rting hourly rate: $16.75 USD per hour.

ALL ABOUT TARGET – Working at Target means helping all families discover the joy of everyday life. This description covers the On-Demand Team Member (TM) model and related expectations. You can work as much or as little as you like; schedules vary based on shift availability and store needs. You will create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members via the myTime mobile scheduling app.

Attendance and responsiveness to contact attempts are essential. If you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, employment may be terminated. You will attend a Target Welcome orientation and undergo a short-term training schedule before using myTime to pick shifts.

ALL ABOUT SERVICE & ENGAGEMENT – Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Knowledge of in-store and digital services and solutions that drive adoption and guest loyalty is expected. You will assist guests with checkout, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive-up while maintaining high quality.

WHAT A GUEST ADVOCATE DOES – Typical duties include delivering service standards, welcoming guests, helping solve guest needs, and promoting Target services and benefits. You will be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to resolve issues and enhance the guest experience. You will also assist with various fulfillment services and direct guests to enroll, activate, and use them, and you should know how to use Wallet and the Target App.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks.
  • Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs and provide assistance.
  • Be knowledgeable about total store tools, products, and services to solve issues and improve guest experience.
  • Thank guests and express appreciation for their visit.
  • Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards.
  • Minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy.
  • Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities and events.
  • Explain benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with enrollment; know how to direct guests to fulfillment services and use them.
  • Demonstrate how to use Wallet and Target App features.
  • Assist with returns and follow register prompts, involving leaders as needed and adhering to policies.
  • De-escalate situations with leaders when necessary to recover the guest experience.
  • Deliver accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and stock supplies during store hours.
  • Practice safety, ethics, and compliance; follow safety policies and report hazards.
  • Support guest services such as OPU, Drive-Up orders and returns, ensuring compliance with laws and store policies.
  • Assist with Cash Office processes as needed, including cash systems management.
  • All other duties based on business needs.

Basic Expectations
  • Accurate cash handling and support for cash office operations as needed.
  • Ability to scan, handle and move merchandise safely; lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 44 pounds occasionally.
  • Flexibility to pick up shifts (nights, weekends, holidays) to meet store needs.
  • Active engagement by picking up shifts and responding to contact attempts; failure to work a shift within 5 months may lead to administrative termination.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments (Drive-Up, carryout, etc.).
  • Ability to stay mobile for the duration of a shift.
