West End - Seasonal Supervisory Positions

The summer fun starts here! The Department of Parks and Recreation has 8 aquatic facilities to include: 2 indoor pools, 4 community pools and 2 water parks. The aquatics department serves over 400,000 visitors a year. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic supervisory team.

DPR aquatic facilities are a 7-days a week operation which requires a flexible work schedule to include: early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

The Lifeguard II/Pool Operator position is responsible for:

• Ensuring patron safety in and around an aquatic facility
• Responding to emergency situations as required
• Monitoring and ensuring proper water chemistry

Minimum Requirements:

• 8th Grade education or higher
• Applicants must be 16 years of age or older
• At least 3 months of lifeguarding experience
• A current Ellis & Associates Lifeguard license

Starting Pay: $16.66

This position will assist the Park Manager and Guest Services Manager in directing daily operation of the facility, scheduling of staff, and leading trash runs. They will also assist with the supervision of cashiers, park attendants and site support staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age

Preference: 12 months of cash handling experience and 3 months of prior supervisory experience

This position oversees daily operations in one of several assigned concession areas and is responsible for food and beverage inventory control, product rotation, managing stock deliveries of food and beverage items, organizing and preparing for catered events, and ensuring that food venues are properly staffed. This position also requires weekly attendance to morning In-Service staff meetings, supervises and trains seasonal staff to include concessionaires, attendants and cooks.

This position reports directly to the Food & Beverage Manager and Assistant Manager on a daily basis.

Minimum Requirements:

• 8th Grade education or higher
• Applicants must be 16 years of age or older
• Serv Safe Food Protection Manager certification

Preference: 3-6 months of prior experience working in a food and beverage establishment.

This position will require the individual to work in an outdoor environment, working with the public of all ages, and cleaning the facility. The incumbent will assist by processing deposits and payments, answering facility phones, auditing cashiers, answering questions, and providing top notch customer service. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to: assisting with customer complaints and group reservation check-in.
