About This Role

  • Interpret and explain library policies and procedures to patrons in a clear and supportive manner.

  • Oversee the Makerspace programming budget, including purchasing equipment and supplies needed to maintain and expand the space.
  • Track programming outcomes and prepare monthly Makerspace reports.
  • Provide high‑quality customer service at the integrated service desk, assisting patrons with circulation, reader’s advisory, reference questions, and technology support.
  • Partner with Management and Government Information Center (MAGIC) staff and the Calibrate Small Business Development Center to support local small business needs.
  • Identify and cultivate community outreach opportunities and partnerships that enhance the visibility and impact of the Chinn Park Makerspace.
  • Contribute to the system‑wide Makerspace team by offering insights and feedback on programs, services, policies, and procedures across PWPL Makerspaces.
Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in library or information science and 1 year of related experience.
  • 1 year of experience in a public library to include 1 year in a supervisory role.

  • Demonstrated experience in budget management, such as tracking expenditures, forecasting needs, and supporting fiscal decision‑making.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, and delivering programming and outreach for diverse age groups and community needs.
  • Customer service experience: including interpreting and communicating library policies, providing high‑quality public service, and effectively managing challenging or escalated situations.
  • Experience with facility operations, including opening and closing procedures, submitting and tracking maintenance requests, and contributing to the development or improvement of operational workflows.
