Qualifications, Education, and Experience
  • Doctorate from an accredited program.
  • Board Certified with a current Virginia license to practice with prescription authority.
  • Current DEA number, NPI number, and basic life support card.
  • Spanish‑speaking preference.
Position Description

The OBGYN Practice Director is responsible for the delivery of quality OBGYN patient care. The Director leads the OBGYN staff to effectively and efficiently deliver patient care and achieve desired outcomes. The Director provides continuous guidance and training to providers and support staff and serves as a resource for high‑risk patients.

Provide care consistent with medical best practices and the organization’s policies and procedures. Protect the dignity, privacy, and confidentiality of patients and families. Work independently and collaborate with other health‑center providers to offer integrated care to patients of all ages.

Compliance with the Center’s Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct and applicable policies and procedures is required. Failure to comply will be considered in performance appraisal and may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including possible termination.

Expectations of the CEO for Each Practice Director
  • Run the practice like a small business, setting provider expectations for patient volume and ensuring revenue supports expenses.
  • Lead the practice, setting an example for providers and support staff.
  • Manage administrative time: 1 hour per clinic day for clinical administrative tasks; 8 hours per week for practice administrative tasks.
  • Provide oversight and ongoing adherence to practice guidelines, protocols, procedures, and staff development activities.
  • Participate in development of Center policy, health‑center wide and practice‑specific guidelines and proposals to the Board.
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities such as peer reviews, health record audits, risk management, and documentation.
  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and retain practice team members; develop onboarding guidelines.
  • Advocate coordination between the director’s practice and other health‑center practices.
  • Understand, comply with, and advocate Patient Center Medical Home (PCMH) guidelines and requirements.
  • Participate in health‑center committees and leadership meetings.
  • Collaborate with marketing and outreach efforts.
  • Negotiate partnership referral agreements and community partnerships.
