Job Overview
Taft Construction Inc is seeking a seasoned Construction Superintendent to lead a high-profile, multi-phase school renovation and addition project in Prince William County, VA. This position plays a critical role in managing on-site operations for a live-campus environment, ensuring project delivery is safe, timely, and aligned with all quality and compliance standards. Responsibilities- Oversee all on-site construction activities and field operations.
- Lead subcontractor coordination to ensure schedule and budget adherence.
- Maintain a strong safety culture; conduct daily safety meetings and ensure OSHA compliance.
- Develop and maintain project schedules with emphasis on timely execution.
- Communicate daily with project stakeholders, including school administrators and inspectors.
- Manage site logistics, materials, deliveries, and equipment usage.
- Resolve field challenges proactively to prevent delays or disruptions.
- Ensure construction aligns with all design documents, specifications, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager on RFIs, change orders, and submittals.
- Maintain detailed field documentation and reporting using digital tools.
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
- Proven experience with K–12 school projects, renovations in occupied buildings, and ground-up additions.
- Strong working knowledge of structural, MEP, and finish sequencing.
- Familiarity with Procore, Primavera P6, or MS Project for scheduling and reporting.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
- Ability to interpret complex construction documents and maintain high standards under pressure.

Full-Time
Monday–Friday, with some weekends and overtime as needed

This is an on-site role with no remote option. Must be comfortable working in live school environments.
