The Office of the Neabsco District Supervisor is seeking an experienced administrative professional to provide direct support to the Neabsco District Supervisor, Prince William Board of County Supervisors. This position works directly with the Supervisor’s Chief of Staff, County executives and departments, elected officials, and the general public. The right person for this position must have outstanding administrative skills and be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality in a constantly evolving environment.
Aboutthis role
The successful candidate will have first contact with citizens, elected officials, businesses and other county agencies that engage with the Office of the Neabsco District Supervisor. The selected individual will be friendly and dynamic, have the ability to defuse negative situations and manage expectations, and have an understanding of all the county services to redirect them, if needed, to the most appropriate person to assist them.
In addition, the candidate must be detail oriented and have the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and determine what confidential information can be disseminated and to whom.
- Working closely with executive management, elected officials, department directors and employees, state and federal offices and the public
- Answer and screen calls and visitors
- Draft, review and edit correspondence and signature items
- Compose, edit, prepare correspondence from the Neabsco District Supervisor
- Assist with meeting agenda and document preparation and take meeting notes/minutes
- Maintain official government records
- Prepare reports and presentations
- Review and process office purchases and transactions
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years of administrative or office experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Availability to work a flexible part‑time schedule, with hours that may vary based on constituent needs and community events
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment
- Professional demeanor and positive attitude
- Dependable with strong work ethic
- Interest in local government and community engagement
- Prior experience in local government or an elected official’s office
- Bilingual ability (especially Spanish) – a plus, not required
Monday–Friday. Flexibility to accommodate attending meetings outside of normal business hours.
Hiring Salary Range$23.00 per hour
