Assistant General Manager at Applegreen, USA operates over 80 travel plazas across the Northeast and Midwest that provide convenience, comfort, retail, and a range of food options.
What You’ll DoThe Assistant General Manager helps the General Manager ensure day-to-day business operations run smoothly. This position provides an opportunity for entry-level managers to learn important management skills and practice judgment and discretion.
Role Priorities And Responsibilities- Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives.
- Supervise non-management associates, assign work, coach and develop shift supervisors, and focus on store-level operation performance.
- Be able to perform duties in the absence of the general manager.
- Motivate and positively influence staff, especially during times of low morale.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Address issues in a timely fashion and ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
- Maintain awareness of brand standards, procedures, and protocols to maximize brand/landlord/labor relations.
- Ensure the restaurant looks clean, inviting, and adheres to brand standards.
- Ensure cash management is accurate and processed daily; prepare and deliver reports per company directives.
- Address customer needs and resolve issues to build positive, long-term customer relationships.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by performing spot counts and checks.
- Passionate about helping people learn and grow the business.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent customer service abilities and a positive attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and sharp business acumen.
- 2+ years of experience in quick service restaurant or similar management operations.
- Flexible and open work schedule.
- Basic food safety understanding and practice.
- Ability and willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 30 lbs.
