We need an individual with extensive, hands-on experience with any observability tool (Grafana (preferable), Prometheus, Data Dog, Splunk, Dynatrace, New Relic) who can start with tactical tasks and eventually evolve into strategic work. In the short term, we require someone capable of building and expanding existing dashboards that integrate data from systems such as Status Gator and Control Up APIs to display service status across our environment.
In the long term, the ideal candidate should be able to design and implement a comprehensive observability strategy for our organization, which includes over 5,000 employees globally. Currently, our approach is reactive, relying on user reports to identify issues. Our goal is to transition to proactive monitoring with real metrics, effective alerting, and comprehensive visibility across our infrastructure. This is a substantial initiative requiring both technical expertise and strategic thinking.
