Position Summary
We are looking for an Electrical Estimator to support our construction projects by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates. You will review project documents, perform quantity take-offs, and develop detailed labor, material, and equipment cost proposals. Your estimates will help secure projects, support profitability, and maintain strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Review drawings, specifications, and project scopes to understand requirements
- Perform quantity take-offs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor work
- Request and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals, including overhead and profit
- Assist with bid submissions, ensuring compliance with RFP requirements
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and job walks to gather project details
- Coordinate with project management, engineering, and field teams to refine estimates
- Track historical costs and market trends to improve accuracy
- Support pricing for change orders and project adjustments as needed
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of electrical estimating experience in construction, preferably industrial or utility projects
- Experience with electrical drawings and take-off software (e.g., Accubid, Trimble, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam) a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating tools
- Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and team-oriented
