About Active Suffolk

East Suffolk Council is a host for Active Suffolk, an independent, not-for-profit organisation, energising the delivery of physical activity and sport across the county. Active Suffolk collaborates with local authorities, the health sector, charitable/voluntary organisations and third sector organisations to help people in Suffolk lead healthy, active lives.

Your role

You will work as part of the children and young peoples (CYP) team, collaborating with partner organisations across Suffolk to increase opportunities for children and young people to be physically active.

Tasks in this role include providing administrative support to the team, presenting data for internal and external use, representing the team at events, and gathering lived experience insight.

You will have direct communication with partner organisations including schools; therefore, you must have excellent communication, listening and organisation skills, and the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

Any offer is subject to relevant safer recruitment checks and a satisfactory DBS check.

Our values and commitment
  • We have Integrity: We commit to decisions aligned to our organisational aims, values and principles, and will make the right decision, not the easy one.
  • We are Inclusive: We recognise that listening to differing views and experiences helps us grow; we champion Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
  • We are Collaborative: We prioritise partnership working to achieve positive physical activity outcomes.
  • We are Adaptable: We recognise barriers to physical activity are complex and changeable, and we remain adaptable to meet challenges.
  • We are Informed: Data and insight drive our decisions to maximise impact where it is most needed.
Equality, diversity and inclusion

We have a strong focus on equality, diversity and inclusion, and we are committed to continuous learning and evolution. We welcome applications from all sections of the community and ensure equal and fair treatment for all applicants regardless of age, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability or nationality. We value diverse perspectives, backgrounds, interests, and skills as essential to connecting with the communities of Suffolk.

We are positive about employing disabled people and, as part of the Disability Confident scheme, guarantee to offer an interview to disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria.
