Warehouse Logistics Support Specialist
About the Opportunity:
The Logistics & Warehouse Support Specialist plays a key role in managing freight activities, supporting warehouse operations, and ensuring accurate reporting across the supply chain. This position processes freight and facility‑related expenses, maintains essential operational data, and serves as a central point of contact between Customer Service, Sales, carriers, and warehouse leadership. The role also contributes to inventory accuracy, assists with daily warehouse tasks, and provides administrative support to keep the facility well‑supplied and organized.
Location:
This is an on‑site position reporting to the Wood Dale facility, Monday through Friday.
- Managing freight and building expense invoices within the ERP system and producing supporting Excel reports
- Coordinating shipping quotations and return shipments with carriers and Customer Service
- Preparing operational reports such as freight accruals, damage summaries, and outbound tracking
- Supporting warehouse functions, including cycle counts, reconciliations, picking, and receiving
- Maintaining office supply inventory and purchasing as needed
- Acting as a liaison between internal teams and carrier services to resolve logistics requests quickly
- Compiling and reporting monthly freight carrier performance metrics
- Providing backup support to the Warehouse Lead and assisting the Supply Chain Manager as required
- Minimum of a high school education and three years of warehouse related experience in shipping and receiving or customer service position.
- Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
- Experience with Microsoft office systems required.
- Preferred experience with a variety of scanning and Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system.
- Preferred experience in communicating with freight carriers and brokers and their websites.
- Must be extremely organized and detail‑oriented.
- Forklift and cherry picker experience is preferred.
Conditions:
- Normal office conditions.
- Exposed to warehouse conditions for a portion of the work day.
- Walking or standing part of the work day, but with periods of sitting for computer transactions.
- Sitting required for most of the work day to complete computer transactions
- Subject to a moderate level of warehouse noise.
- Standing and walking are part of the workday.
The hiring range for this position is $26–$35 per hour, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
