Manger Software Engineering

Our client is looking to add a leader to their digital enablement team – specifically leading the API engineering team. They will be expected to be hands on with developing and architecting for various products within the digital portfolio, while acting as the first level of leadership escalation. This includes both onsite and remote teams. They will also be involved in making technology and architecture recommendations and decisions and actively working with the product development and management team.

Specific technical responsibility includes information gathering/research, liaising with Product teams, undertaking design and architecture work, and writing code as needed including active development on products, prototypes, and proofs of concept. They will be responsible for all system developments using, and integrating, appropriate technologies for new developments in their area of responsibility. Strong interpersonal skills will set someone for success in this position, as they will heavily interact with all areas of the business, including stake holders.

• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• Specifically - web based or online interactive technology organization using Java Spring Boot, Microservices, Event Driven Architecture
• 2+ years of management/leadership experience

• Develop and support a diverse range of new and existing applications across a global stack – focusing on quality, maintainability, consistent design, and customer satisfaction
• Manage tasks, assign work, handle/troubleshoot issues, and mentor team members inside and outside your direct team including those with QA, Product, and Database skills
• Be focused on growing your team’s skills and developing them personally and professionally
• Operate as the local contact for business stakeholders and system and process owners in respect of project resourcing, development design, quality, and system testing of software systems within their remit

• Design and develop APIs in support of web and mobile applications and partner integrations using modern languages including JAVA Spring boot for multiple projects and products
• Create software solutions engineered to incorporate best practices in service orientated architectures in coordination with other software development and cloud computing teams.
• Perform testing of code/projects to ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness to achieve desired results taking responsibility for the final quality of developed products
• Drive technology strategy and technical capabilities for our applications; leveraging deep understanding of business processes and technical building blocks to design application architectures that balance business and customer needs with technical non-functional requirements for resiliency, security, and efficiency
